‘I killed my mother because she was a witch’ – Soldier on the run
Corporal Charles Thomson, who fled the theater of operations in the northeast of the country, confessed to killing his mother.

Corporal Thomson was among 82 suspects who were paraded by the Kaduna State Police Command Thursday for various criminal activities in Kaduna.
The 30-year-old suspect, who confessed to the alleged manslaughter of his mother, told The Nation that he stabbed his mother to death because she was a witch, adding that his mother turned into a snake at night.
In his opinion, “I was arrested for manslaughter because my mother died at my hands during an argument with her. We quarreled over a spiritual dispute; I saw her turn into a snake at night and she made me angry.
“He also appeared and disappeared. And when I entered her room, I saw her with a 10 year old child running around her. This is what led to the struggle, ”he said.
When asked about his father, young Thompson said that his father abandoned him and his only brother with his mother about 20 years ago.
“At the moment I am on sick leave because I am disabled, I was injured, I fell during the attack in Maiduguri. I am not a fired soldier, I still serve. “
Thompson also blamed the incident for the lack of love between him and his deceased mother, stating that his mother spoke badly of him among people.
[b]“We always had problems, there was no love. He didn’t like his children. Therefore, I want to advise parents to always help their children and speak well about it publicly, ” [/b]the suspect said.
Meanwhile, police said their investigation showed Thompson was AWOL, that is, without permission, contrary to his claims that he was on sick leave due to the army.
