IPOB threatens arrest for alleged bias in Nnamdi Kanu trial

Biafra’s outlawed natives on Friday threatened to shut down the country over what he described as the federal government’s partial handling of the trial against its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The group, which condemned the way some of Kanu’s lawyers were denied entry to the courtroom by Department of State Services staff when the trial resumed on Wednesday, said the judiciary had been used to hold Kanu. in perennial detention without trial.

IPOB director of media and advertising, Emma Powerful, in a statement titled: “If the federal government thinks it can use justice Binta Nyako to keep our leader in perpetual detention without trial, we will paralyze Nigeria,” he said. whether the federal government liked it or not, it remained committed to the actualization of Biafra.

The statement read in part: “We, the global movement and indigenous family of Biafra, unequivocally condemn Judge Binta Nyako’s attitude on the way he is handling the case of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in front of his court. We are very shocked by his obvious (alleged) bias and bias during the latest court proceedings which led to his extravagant case postponement to January 19 and 20, 2022.

Justice Binta Nyako is engaged in judicial malice and impunity at the behest of the federal government of Nigeria with the aim of keeping our leader in perpetual detention without trial. This rogue only portrays that Binta Nyako is simply interpreting the script delivered to her by the Fulani Caliphate to which she belongs.

“We want to express our disappointment with Judge Binta Nyako’s handling of this case. How can a defendant be tried without legal representation? Judge Binta Nyako has always wanted to conduct a secret trial on this high-profile case concerning the personal freedom and human rights of the accused ”.

The group said lengthy postponements and what appeared to be open bias and execution of DSS orders had eroded the defendant’s confidence in the neutrality of the judge handling the case.

He added: “Justice Binta Nyako has given us sufficient reasons and grounds to doubt his ability to give justice and a fair hearing to our leader, considering the way the judge handled this case.

“The exclusion from the courtroom of legal representatives, including one of the advisors to our US leader, Bruce Fein, only showed Judge Binta Nyako’s biased and biased disposition in this case before her.

“One thing the judge needs to understand is that we are determined in our irrevocable determination to actualize Biafra. No amount of intimidation, persecution or prejudice by the oppressors or their agents can derail our game towards freedom and the ultimate restoration of the Sovereign State of Biafra.

“Our elders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and the political elite who are begging the IPOB to give in to silence must take serious note of the parody and cheating taking place in Judge Binta Nyako’s courtroom. Our patience is not infinitely elastic. “
