#JusticeForDonDavis Trends in Nigerian Calls for Justice for Sexually Harassed Student at Deeper Life
Nigerians on social media are demanding justice for 11-year-old student Don Davis Archibong, who was allegedly sexually abused at Deeper Life High School in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Deborah Okezi, the mother of a student at No. 1 Junior High School at Christian School, shared a video last week on her Facebook account in which she stated that her son had died of hunger and was harassed by some of the older students at the school.
Okezi claimed that the older students harassed the boy by thrusting his arms and legs into his anus.
The mother said her son told her that they threatened to kill him if he exposed the director or his parents.
With hashtag #JusticeForDonDavis on Twitter, Nigerians on Twitter are demanding justice for Don Davis after his mother revealed that he is now having nightmares and suddenly wakes up.
For example, Aisha Yesufu, social and political activist and co-host of Bring Our Girls Back, a human rights group that calls attention to the 2014 kidnapping of more than 200 girls from high school in Chibok, Nigeria. @AishaYesufu tweeted: “It looks like a lot of people haven’t learned from #MeToo. Many will go to great lengths to see #JusticeForDonDavis disappear because they fear the harassment crimes they have committed will be in the spotlight! raped children will shock you! All this time we refused to open the door. #JusticeForDonDavis will give many men the right to call those who raped them when they were young. ”
Another Twitter user, alias @Petayeni, wrote, “Yes, no. All universities of deep life should be closed. All boarding schools in Nigeria must be closed (including federal government schools). In fact, all schools should be closed. #JusticeForDonDavis should be executed accordingly ”.
@ SaintMa41005848 said: “The #Justicefordondavis boarding school is the worst place for any child, especially when they are only boys or girls. Dear Pastor (William) Kumuyi (Founder and Chief Superintendent of the Deepest Ministry of the Christian Life), don’t be embarrassed, Lord, do something. “
Likewise, @dokubo_kenneth wrote: “If Don Davis were a girl by now, FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers) and other human rights organizations would have filed a case upside down, like Gala and clear water in traffic jams. (He took up the case with a determination to get justice.) Again, because he is a boy, no one wants to defend his #JusticeForDonDavis case. ”
@Faevy_Lugards also wrote: “We see something so precious and beautiful, but we abuse … what is really wrong with people … how people can be so ruthless and cruel … 11 year old boy raped, mistreated, hungry both intimidated and svh @ # deeperlifehigh trying to hide it … we must Sorosoka (speak), my people. #JusticeForDonDavis “.
Also, @Chief_talker said, “Until Pastor Kumuyi sees all of this and condemns him publicly, we won’t stop ooo. Any deeper (church) member here should ask his pastor to tell the senior pastors until Baba himself hears it. Abi una no dey twitter (or are you not on Twitter)? #JusticeForDonDavis #deeperlifehighschool #justicefordondavies “.
@BhadmusAkeem wrote, “Government ministries are full of many villains. In 2018, when I had a problem with the school, an official from the State Ministry of Education made sure that the school was operational. In fact, a young Twitter employee who wanted to help with this case stopped answering my calls. #JusticeForDonDavis.
“Am I surprised that Ms. Enobong Udemeabashi Mbobo, State Education Commissioner Akwa Ibom, is trying to silence the victim’s mother? No, they are not. They do this because the schools “care” about them a lot.
“Or should I talk about how Department of Justice officials were bribed to go from court to school friendly court just to get a verdict? These are the ministries in which people who have children work. Only God can judge them all. “
@ Jessica12754192 wrote: “We are afraid of the rape of our daughters, now should we be afraid of the rape of our children? Imagine if this guy didn’t open up and bring this pain into adulthood, what kind of person would he be? Makes you think about the person you are judging, what they went through? What pain is hiding? #JusticeForDonDavis. “
@Sther_MOA said, “So that’s it? Did #JusticeForDonDavis just disappear from the trend graph like that? For people who always complain that sexually abused boys are not getting enough attention, you are all wasting too little energy demanding justice for this poor boy. #deeperlifehighschool. “
As for @ Biisi96: “Missionary school, but you are trying to silence your victim. If an institution closely associated with your church can be so vile and wicked in the public eye, only you and God know what is behind the science in your church. #JusticeForDonDavis “.
@That_IjebuBadoo said, “Mom documented her son’s abuse online, an abuse that nearly killed and traumatized him. The Education Commissioner called her office and confiscated her phone. This is Nigeria, child abuse is considered a shame for the government. #JusticeForDonDavis “.
@_chidinmaaaa wrote, “Don Davis is an 11 year old boy who was abused and harassed at Deeper Life High School in Uyo. The mother has called for justice, but the school and state government want to close the case. So guys, let’s help Don Davis get the justice he deserves #JusticeForDonDavis. “
“Elisha Abbo is still in power. The governor reconciled the woman with the attacker. The Education Commissioner now supports the school in covering up child sexual abuse. The Nigerian government has an infamous offender shield model. #justicefordondavis “, – @sa_vvy wrote.
