Laval, who shocked his community by printing posters and posting them in the area to announce his change of surname from Bukhari to Munson Allah, said it was in protest against the ongoing killings.

A middle-aged Damari resident of the Sabuwa Local Government District in Katsina State, Laval Na Bukhari, lamented the state’s growing insecurity and banditry, saying he has now changed his name to Laval Na Manzon Allah.

Laval, who shocked his community by printing posters and posting them in the area to announce his change of surname from Bukhari to Munson Allah, said it was in protest against the ongoing killings.

A resident complained that the federal government, led by President Muhammadu Bukhari, had not taken sufficient action to address the growing insecurity.

According to the Katsina Post, a resident of Laval Idi was affectionately called Laval Na Bukhari because of his love for President Bukhari, but he announced that he should now be called Laval Na Manzon Allah.

“He printed posters with his photograph and an ad that were posted in many places in the community. The posters were also widely distributed to community members in the form of brochures.

“On the poster, Laval wrote that anyone who continues to call him ‘Na Bukhari’ is to blame,” a local newspaper reported.

Damari is one of the towns in Sabuwa Province (LGA) that has recently been targeted and assassinated by bandits.
