Lagos State announces the January 18 school reopening date.
The Lagos State Government announced that all public and private schools below the upper tier in Lagos State are expected to reopen for the 2020/21 second semester academic session from Monday 18 January 2021.
Distinguished Commissioner for Education Ms. Folasade Adefisayo, who announced this today, said so. this is in line with the directive of the federal government in connection with the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He then ordered all schools to comply with all Covid-19 requirements set for shooting schools.
“Not only to improve the overall performance of the school, but also to safely resume academic activities to support the Lagos State government’s commitment to full impact.”
The Commissioner advised schools to have flexible plans whereby students and teachers who feel sick can teach or study at home through available online platforms, adding that schools should also strive to avoid contracting COVID-19 among all students. and staff.
He also advised teachers, students and visitors to always wear masks, keep their distance, wash their hands regularly with soap and water under running water, and maintain high standards of personal hygiene in school premises.
