Lagos State Police Arrest 43 Club Visitors And Strippers For Violating COVID19 Protocols |
No more than forty-three club members, along with strippers, were arrested and detained by police at the Eclipse nightclub on Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island for violating COVID-19 protocols following a second wave of infections in the country.

This is stated in a statement released by SP CSP Command spokesman Olumuywa Adejobi, who said the arrests were made on Sunday, January 10.
Adejobi said that police officers assigned to the Morocco state department on the orders of Police Commissioner Hakim Odumosu pursued deviant clubbers and arrested them for nightclubs, regardless of COVID-19 protocols.
He said that State Police Commissioner Hakim Odumos ordered the transfer of those arrested to the Oshodi Task Force office for prosecution.
He added that the police chief also ordered that club owners no longer be spared as they encourage statewide disregard for protocols.

As a reminder, Nigerian doctor @drbellanifemi wrote to the Governor and Commissioner for Health of Lagos State advising them on fair punishment for those who violate COVID-19 guidelines.
According to @drbellanifemi, those caught red-handed should be punished with community service at IDH Yaba.
IDH Yaba is an infectious diseases hospital in Lagos state, and the doctor believes direct experience of infection will allow them to take the virus more seriously.
