LASEMA saves a man from suicide on the Ikoyi Link bridge

A young man who tried to commit suicide near the Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos was rescued by officers of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) naval unit.

The director general of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanintolu, who confirmed the incident, said the person who was not allowed to jump off the bridge was from Anambra state, but lives in the Ejigbo District of Lagos state.

He said;

“The response was activated to save a young man (hidden name) who came from Anambra state but lives in the Ejigbo area of ​​Lagos state.

“The agency’s rescuers managed to persuade them to save the young man from the starting point. He was subsequently examined by the agency’s paramedics and then handed over to the Good Samaritans, Mr Odukoye and Mr Okanlavon, who promised to provide the victim with adequate therapy and psychological counseling.

“Details of the Good Samaritans were received from the response team in conjunction with the Nigerian police at the scene.”
