LASG Reveals Allegation That #EndSARS Protester Was Killed By Police In Surulera
The Lagos state government has denied claims that an EndSARS protester was killed by a police officer in Surulere on Monday, October 12.
Information ombudsman Gbenga Omotosho said the man killed yesterday was a passer-by who was not among the protesters. Omotosho said the man was killed by thugs who stormed the anti-kidnapping squad in Hogan Bassey Street, Surulere, to free two suspects in the alleged kidnapping trial. The bandits reportedly killed a police officer and injured two other police officers.

“The Lagos State Government’s attention has been drawn to reports of the killing of a #ENDSARS protester in Surulera. It is not true.
A group of thugs broke into the anti-kidnapping unit in Hogan Bassey Street, Surulere, to free two suspected kidnapping suspects. They shot three officers. Unfortunately, one of them, Inspector Erinfallami Ayodeji, passed away. The rest are Inspectors Akein Joshua and Peter Agabi.
The bandits fired into the air as they escaped. A passer-by hit. He’s also dead – unfortunately.
Governor Babajide Sanvo-Olu welcomes bereaved families and prays that God will strengthen them.
He calls on all concerned to ensure that these protests do not degenerate further and create space for thugs who have no good intentions for our society.
The government is working with the police to ensure the restoration of the peace that Lagos has always been proud of.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy “
