Lecchi toll booth: Amnesty International does not run this country – Femi Adesina
The president said Amnesty International did not run the country and was mistaken in her report on the movement of troops from the barracks to the toll station in Lekki, where peaceful #EndSARS protesters were beaten on Tuesday 20 October.
Mr. Femi Adesina, special media and advertising adviser to President Muhammadu Bukhari, announced this Thursday morning on TV, responding to allegations that military intimidation of protesters in Lekki Tallgate has led to looting and firing of thugs. countrywide.
In addition, justifying the military, Adesina stated that the incident with Lecky Tallgate did not cause the massive arson and looting that spread throughout the country.
Vanguard reported that Amnesty International released a report on Wednesday entitled “Nigeria: Lekki Toll Highway Massacre – New Investigation Schedule”.
In the report, the advocacy group described the movement of soldiers from barracks to toll booths where #EndSARS protesters waved flags and sang the national anthem.
He previously claimed that about 12 people were killed in the shootout, precipitating looting across the country.
However, noting that the robberies and fires began even before the incident with Lecca, Adesina told Sunrise Daily TV: “The escape incidents in Benin and the Oko happened before Lecca.
“Orile police station was burned in front of Lekki. Many things happened before Lecca. This means that Lekki did not become the reason for the looting, arson.
“Amnesty International is wrong. They don’t have all the facts; they don’t run this country, so they don’t need to know other than what they’ve been told.
“Amnesty International must do its job. But it is the duty of Nigerians to look at what they said, whether justified or not. “
When asked about the ministerial reports that President Bukhari sent out to their home states, Adesina replied: “Only two ministers have prepared protocols.
“The rest are still in their states. They are expected to submit their reports next week and they will help establish the truth about some things.
“The minister will come with an almost authentic one.”
