Lekki Shooting; Young Nigerians are now a global tribe, they can wage an asymmetric war against state authorities – Professor Pat Utomi (video)

Pat Utomi, a Nigerian professor of political economy and management expert, shared eyewitness accounts of the shooting at a toll booth in Lekki, which killed protesters and injured many.

The well-known economist, who said he lives quite close to Lekki Toll Gate, said that when filming began, he had a phone call with a friend from the United States. Utomi said he heard sirens and gunfire during the conversation.

He also said that he heard young people say to themselves, “lie down, shoot us.”

Utomi, who noted that young people have repeatedly accused the government of sending thugs to seize protests, warned the Bukhari-led administration to use force against protesters as Nigerian youths became a global tribe.

He added that Nigerian youth can wage an asymmetric war against state authorities from a global perspective.
