Ahead of the Gombe State Council of Local Government elections on December 19, the All-Progressive Congress, APC halted the campaign and presented flags to its eleven candidates in the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a ceremony that brought thousands of party supporters to Pantami Township Stadium, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya ordered APC supporters in the state to declare themselves an ensemble and vote for the party to ensure sustainable growth and development. at the grassroots level.
Governor Inuwa Yahai, represented by the Secretary of State of Gombe, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said that since taking office in 2019, his administration has achieved outstanding results in various fields of human endeavor.
The governor, who took the opportunity to reveal some of his administration’s accomplishments, said his government ensured the timely delivery and distribution of fertilizer to the state’s farmers, which has always improved yields. a harvest leading to record yields across the state. …
He said that in keeping with his campaign promises, his administration has made significant progress in providing drinking water to the metropolis in and around Gombe, stating that the expansion of the water supply will continue until much of the state is free of its shortages. …
In the health sector, the governor was pleased to inform the huge crowd that his administration has substantially revamped primary health care centers in one hundred and fourteen wards of the state, which the governor explained is in addition to the renovation of the state’s specialized hospital. and major renovations of some public general hospitals.
The governor also reminded a crowd of party supporters that his administration’s declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector led to significant improvements in infrastructure development, student recruitment through the BESDA program, and teacher motivation. who were previously in unacceptable conditions.
He said his flagship eleven hundred network project, which aims to build at least one hundred kilometers of roads in each of the state’s 11 local government districts, is underway and will be completed before its first term.
On the security front, the governor said his administration, with the support of security and citizenry, has managed to stem the tide of crime and crime so that state residents can go to bed with their eyes closed.
It also highlighted other sectors that are undergoing transformation, including the environment, trade and investment, and a commitment to partnerships to improve human capital development in the state.
Governor Yahai has instructed future state local government candidates to campaign based on issues and engage all stakeholders at their respective local government levels.
Alhaji Abubakar Muazu (Yariman Kashir), chairman of the local electoral committee for the December 19 elections, said the party was well prepared for a sweeping and sensational victory.
He called on political parties running in local elections not to do anything that could jeopardize this process, but to respect the rules of the game, which should ultimately lead to winners and losers.
Gombe State APC interim chairman Nitte Amangal expressed optimism that APC will emerge as the winner in the upcoming vote.
