The statement says: “Boss Mahmoud gathered assassin shepherds and bandits, armed them with dangerous weapons, to avenge Seriki Fulani for leaving Igangan, who now lives in a village in the state of Kwara.
“While the boss is now on the run, his bloodthirsty shepherds are perpetuating chaos by slaughtering innocent farmers and citizens in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
“Agbekoya will not surrender until all these criminals terrorizing Yorubaland are found.
“The peasant corps, however, urged the peasants of the Southwest not to go to their farms alone, but to make sure that they went to their farms in groups ready to prevent any sudden attack by bandits and murderous shepherds.
“The deadly shepherds have unleashed a guerrilla war on Yorubaland, and we must be on our guard and strategically eliminate them wherever they are in the southwest.
“We use this environment to invite other security stakeholders, traditional rulers, governors of the Southwest, politicians and Yoruba leaders to stand up to resolve the insecure situation in the region.
“We also call on governors and leaders in the north to take positive steps to call to order the bloodthirsty shepherds and bandits terrorizing the southwest.
“If the situation persists, Agbekoya will not hesitate to start a full-scale war against armed shepherds, kidnappers and bandits.”
