Muhammad Ali was my hero the day I mourned him

The head overseer of the redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Friday called the late American professional boxer Muhammad Ali his “hero.”

The priest, who was a boxer, said that he once mourned the health of Ali, who died in 2016 at the age of 74.

Adeboya spoke at the virtual Holy Spirit ministry in February 2021 on the theme “God bless you (2).”

The 78-year-old cleric said: “It’s one thing to be a champion, it’s another to become a champion again. I will illustrate this with the example of the blessed memory of Muhammad Ali.

“He was my hero, by the way, we were born in the same year, and I was also a boxer; not from his class, but I followed his every fight. At least starting with Sonny Liston, I can tell you about everyone my hero fought with.
