A man from Nigeria who slept with a 13-year-old girl after screening his films with an x rating was exhibited in Lagos state. A 13-year-old girl, telling a sad story on Wednesday, October 14, announced that her aunt’s husband, whom she calls “dad,” would play pornographic videos for her to watch and then raped her.

He claimed to have raped her in his shop and in their apartment on Surulere Street in the Ojo district of Lagos, threatening to kill her if he told anyone.

The revelation comes following the arrest of 48-year-old suspect Mr. Charles Ekwe, whom the victim refers to as “Pope,” by the Gender Unit of the Nigerian Civil Security and Defense Corps, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Monday 12 October.

The teenager has been living with his aunt since the age of nine, after the death of his father. She claimed that the suspect penetrated her hard every time her aunt was out of sight. She said, “Whenever Dad wanted to do this, he would show me blue movies (pornography) on his phone.” He has done this many times.

I can’t count how many times he did it. I was afraid to report to my aunt, because dad threatened to kick me out of the house and kill me if I did. “The girl’s aunt, Ms. Ekwe Blessing, noted that the teenager was not doing well and interrogated the girl. Upon request, the teenager told how her uncle would sexually abuse.

Ms Ecke allegedly took the girl to a hospital, where a medical examination confirmed a ruptured hymen. During interrogation, the suspect told NSCDC agents that he only stroked the girl’s genitals. He also admitted that he exposed her to watch pornography on his phone.

NSCDC commander in Lagos, Mr. Ayeni Paul, speaking to reporters, said: “A sexual assault suspect will face the full wrath of the law and will be referred to the appropriate agency for further investigation and prosecution. …

“This is a heinous crime, and all those responsible for this crime, once it is discovered, will have to pay dearly.”

He also said that “the Corps gender division, which is responsible for investigating rape, domestic violence, sexual assault and infection, and child abuse, has well-trained staff to handle such cases.”

Therefore, he ordered members of the public to refer such cases to the command for prosecution.
