Nigerian army kills innocent people in Orel – residents make startling discovery
According to SaharaReporters, some residents of the Orlu communities in Imo state have accused Nigerian army soldiers of killing “innocent” people.
Residents showed this in a survey conducted by SaharaReporters.
Many people were reported to have been killed in the community following a clash between Nigerian army officers and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) of the Indigenous Security Group of Biafra (IPOB) on 25 January.
The video, watched by SaharaReporter for a week, showed helicopters flying around the city in search of fields occupied by ESN personnel.
The representative of the 34th Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Obinze, Owerri, Babatunde Zubairu, who confirmed the operation, said the local residents were not harassed.
An army spokesman said the operation was an offshoot of military intelligence.
Kanu, the indigenous leader of Biafra, launched ESN on December 12, 2020, stating that a regional security service would help fight crime and crime like Amotekun in the southwest.
In the aftermath of the clash, Kanu accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of working with the army to “scare and attack UST officers from the bushes in which they operate.”
On Friday, the Imo state government said ESN agents are thugs and would be viewed by the government as assassins.
State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Cyprian Akaolisa said: “The government of Imo has called on the military to hunt down thugs named ESN in Eagle.”
According to Akaolis, Kanu endangered the residents of the state because of ESN’s activities in the area.
In response to a survey conducted by SaharaReporter, some rescuers have accused the military of killing innocent people. For fear of becoming a victim, some of them did not give their names.
“The military is killing innocent people. They must direct their aggression against the Fulani shepherds and terrorist bandits. “ said one of the respondents.
Another respondent said: “It’s so scary and full of injustices. We now live in fear of the Nigerian army and an attack by armed Fulani shepherds.
“I cannot go back to my regular local business to feed myself and my three children. We are helpless and hungry. We cannot appeal to the government because it is biased.
“The government let us down. They protect their loved ones at the cost of our lives. Do I still believe in this government? The government should negotiate with the UST, as they do with the Fulani bandits. “
One of the respondents said that his friend was killed by Nigerian soldiers.
“It’s so bad that my boyfriend, Oniebuchi, doesn’t die, I’m a bullet. What’s happening?? The UST is not a terrorist group. Since its inception, no one has been raped, there is no bad news about them, but the military is killing us using (ESN) as an excuse. What’s happening?” Churches.
“We live in fear; An elderly woman returning from a farm was killed. ESN does not threaten anyone; military. And all the victims of the military assault are still harmless civilians, not UST “, – said another resident of the city.
“There have been reports of arrests and deaths that I have yet to establish. There is no crisis in Orel. Bukhari’s regime only shows a high level of incapacity. They must return their interest in the northern axis of terror, because the UST protects only the eastern territories from the devastating actions of the Fulani shepherds sponsored by this regime. “ – said one of the residents.
Another said he lost his business during a fight.
He said: “I lost my business. I have to defend my ancestral home if I have everything I need for this. Many people are currently in the hospital and many are unable to get to the hospital because they fear the army might come and take them out of the hospital. The Nigerian government cannot do anything because it is he who is causing the crisis. “
