Nigerian army to send new recruits to Sambis forest

Lieutenant General Tukur Buratay, chief of staff of the army, told the recruits that after training they would all go to the Sambis Forest, the stronghold of the terrorist sect Boko Haram in Borno state.

He also informed the recruits that there is no room for laziness or indiscipline in the army, adding that they must decide to serve Nigeria as soldiers.

Buratay reported this during a final screening of 80 permanent recruits detained in Falgor Forest in the Tudun Wads local government area of Kano State.

“You have to decide that you are ready to serve your country as a soldier and you have to be ready,” Buratay said.

“All of you will go to Sambisa upon completion of training at the depot. If you are not ready to move to Sambisa and other parts of the country and of course
our border areas to protect our country from any act of aggression so that you do not start.

“It’s not too late, if in doubt you can get up and leave.

“There is no place for laziness and indiscipline in the army, there is no place for simulation.”
