Nigerian Woman Surprised When Sending Two Teenagers to Libya for Prostitution |
A Nigerian woman named Comfort Innocent was arrested after planning to send two minors to Libya to engage in prostitution.
The arrest of a 35-year-old woman follows a complaint by the mothers of the deceased, Ms Oluvasyn Adurotola and Sakirat Fasasi, about the abduction of Blessing Adurotol (15) and Hasisat Fasasi (16).
The victims’ parents filed a complaint with the Ovoda Egba police station that the suspect had abducted their daughters and was going to take them to Libya.
She was arrested on the basis of information received from Police Department Officer (DPO) of the Ovoda Egba Police Department, CSP Matthew Eddia and his team.
The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime, explaining that she was recruiting girls for prostitution with the connivance of her husband, who lives in Italy.
Ogun Abimbol Oeyemi, a public relations officer for the State Command, said the two victims were rescued by police in Kaduna State.
Oeyemi, Deputy Superintendent of Police, said: “During interrogation, the suspect confessed to trafficking and had a long history of working in the industry.
“She also admitted that her victims were sent by her husband, who lived in Italy, to engage in prostitution, while he admitted that two girls were taken to Kaduna state for a trip to Libya.
“Two casualties were rescued by the Kaduna police.”
According to the PPRO, the suspect was transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labor Division of the State Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence by order of Police Commissioner Edward Ajogun.
