It was revealed that Chigozie Atomonye, ​​a very pregnant teacher, was among more than ten people who died in the fire at the market in the village of Kubwa in the territory of the federal capital, Abuja, on Friday evening, 5 November.

According to his neighbor, Virginus Oleru, who lost his two daughters in the fire, the deceased went to greet food vendors when the incident occurred.

“She was very pregnant with two weeks remaining for delivery, but she died in the accident.” Mr. Oleru said.

“My other neighbor, Mr. Obinna also lost her 17-year-old daughter, while another 15-year-old daughter was injured. The mother sent them to buy paracetamol tablets and they stopped to play with their friends ”. He added.

Meanwhile, most of the victims who have sustained high-grade burns are being treated at the Burns and Plastic Unit of the Abuja National Hospital.

A middle-aged teacher from Idah, Kogi state, Mata Ali, whose 25-year-old daughter, Rosemary, who graduated two months ago, was drawn into hell, said the pain was unbearable and she had closed her blood pressure (BP)

“My daughter just came to visit her uncle. His uncle’s wife sells in the place where the explosion occurred. His uncle’s wife came home for a wedding ceremony and decided to help and sell when the accident happened. I’ve heard it around 11. 45 on a Friday. From that moment on, we have been praying and crying for his recovery ”. he told.

According to her, her daughter just graduated from Idah Federal Polytechnic in Kogi state two months ago and was looking forward to the mobilization of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC).

“The nurses and doctors are doing their best, but the burns are many.” she added.
