Ohanaeze supports Umahi in her desertion, says PDP rude to Ndigbo
Socio-cultural and political organization Pan-Igbo Ohanaeze Ndigbo announced its support for the actions of the Governor of Ebony State David Umahi to abandon the People’s Democratic Party and join the Congress of all progressives.
Umahi reportedly told NDP leaders at a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday that he would be leaving the party due to its refusal to zone the 2023 presidential ticket to the southeast.
Deputy National Advertising Secretary Ohanaese, chief executive of Chuks Ibegbu, called Umaha’s planned move “legitimate.”
Ibegbu said Wednesday in a telephone interview to our correspondent in Enugu.
He said the NDP would not be nice if it didn’t share the 2023 presidency in the southeast, which was badly hit. ”
By the way, the party has not yet been officially announced about Umaha’s planned move to APC.
APC Assistant National Advertising Secretary Yekini Nabena, responding to PUNCH’s inquiry on the matter on Wednesday, said: “Our doors are wide open to welcome all Nigerians who meet the requirements of the constitution to join our party.
“At the moment, there have been no official communications from either him (Umaha) or his people.”
