This view was expressed over the weekend by Redeemer’s International Leadership Academy, RILA, which honored Vice President Professor Osinbajo as a living legend.

RILA also honored some of the other pastors at the weekend event, all the pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, which operates the institute.

During the presentation of the award to the Vice President, Pastor J.A. Bolarinwa, who spoke on behalf of the institute at an event held in Lagos, noted that before Pastor Osinbajo was fired from his “national position”, he served in RILA as one of the faculties that describe him as “actually a leader, he not (only) taught leadership, he lived it.”

He praised the vice president’s humility and support for the institute, where he was one of the first students 25 years ago. The institute noted that he was impressed by Osinbajo’s service, support and contribution to RILA.

The Vice President, who joined virtually, was honored Saturday with the Living Legend Institute award alongside Pastor Kayode Pitan, CEO of the Bank of Industry, while Pastor J.A. Bolarinwa, Ph.D., Pastor Idovu Iluyomade and Pastor Tokunbo Adesanya was also honored with a Life Legend award. Awards. In his address, Professor Osinbajo, who delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of all the laureates, said: “I am honored to be invited to speak on behalf of the distinguished and transformative leaders who are honored today. The vice president added that “the RILA Legends Posthumous Awards laureate, the late Pastor Alfred Olufeyimi laid the foundation for the institute almost on his own,” adding that the pastor’s contribution was “unforgettable, he led with compassion, understanding and attention. in Paradise “.

The Vice President also praised “Pastor Kayode Pitan, whose job it was to build faithfully under the great shadow of his mentor and friend, and Pastor Ben Evusi, my friend and brother, who, along with Pastor Kayode, Pastor Mike Oshiokame, were my classmates in Bible School “.
Recalling the contribution of the first chancellor of RILA, the vice president said that “during his life he became Mr. RILA, he literally gave everything he had to RILA. He left NAL Merchant Bank to earn N10k as RILA’s first full-time administrator. Pastor Ben designed RILA for Africa’s premier Bible and Leadership Institute, developed cutting edge, always forward-looking courses and programs, and initiated the creation of many RILA centers locally and internationally. “

As for Pastor Bolarinva, who was also honored, Professor Osinbajo called him “God sent to RILA”, crediting him with the successful incorporation of the institute into the RCCG structure. He added that Pastor Bolarinwa “has made a great contribution to RILA’s activities in recent years as Vice President of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Academic Council.”
The Vice President also thanked Pastor Idova Iluyomade and Pastor Toksa Adesanya for their leadership and worthy contribution to RILA.

The event was held as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Bible School.
