“Our assets in Calabar have been vandalized” – UN alarm
Following the vandalism and criminals’ incursion into the United Nations, the organization raised the alarm.
Edward Callon, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Nigeria, tweeted this, which he shared, which also included photographs of a crowd destroying UN vehicles and invading an international agency facility in Kalabar.
Kallon, who condemned the attack, added that the vandals were keen to discredit the peaceful protests in order to end police brutality.
He tweeted;
“The United Nations in Nigeria strongly condemns attacks on its assets in Kalabar by vandals who wanted to discredit peaceful protests and end police brutality. I encourage young people to apply restrictions and enter into dialogue with the government at their legitimate request. ”
