Panic over the fact that the bandits killed the uncle of the deputy, kidnapped the newlyweds and 13 more people in Katsin

On Monday, December 28, gunmen killed the deputy’s uncle, kidnapped a married couple and 13 other people in the Safana municipal district in Katsina state.

It turned out that the incident took place in the village of Rumka, when bandits broke into the village and killed Samaila Soup, the uncle of the deputy who represented Safana in the State House of Assembly.

Describing how his uncle was killed, MP Abduljalal Haruna said that his uncle, Mr. Supa, was killed by militants when he refused to be kidnapped.

“One of them just pulled the trigger and hit him. He fell and died instantly, ”he said.

Haruna also said that the bandits abducted 13 people in the Babban-Duchu community last night, but seven of the abducted then fled and returned home.

In addition, it was revealed that the couple had been kidnapped on Monday, just a week after the wedding ceremony.

The groom and his bride were identified as Samail Abdullahi and Zainab Ismail, respectively.

Haruna said many others have been killed and are currently being treated at the hospital.

“All this is happening despite the presence of security personnel in the area where my uncle was killed.

“The distance between the locations of the security personnel is about five kilometers from where the militants were operating.”

When contacted, the official representative of the Katzina State Police Department, S.P. Gambo Isa, said the police as well as security personnel are doing everything they can to protect communities from these criminals.

He urged residents to always work with the police to identify informants as well as suspicious characters in their communities.
