Panic when the mentally ill kills the guard with Rod
A mentally ill man killed a guard by repeatedly hitting his head with a stick in Bomadi, Delta State.
The unfortunate incident occurred Monday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Waters of the Catholic Church in the coastal town.
A church member who witnessed the incident and declared himself anonymous said the unbalanced man, identified as Yu-Boy, regularly attended the cathedral at odd hours of the night.
He said: “We had a harvest festival last Sunday and I was in the cathedral counting money on that fateful night when the accident happened, but I was afraid to go out.
“The incident took place at about 2 am on Monday when this madman was caught by a guard trying to enter the cathedral.
“He often breaks security and sneaks into the cathedral, where he poops and pees on the altar, destroys the auditorium and escapes unnoticed.
“Several months ago, he took the lectionary from the altar and threw it over the fence he found later. On other occasions, he removed the lights of Holy Communion.
“So, he was caught on that fateful night, and while the guard was dragging him to lock him in the room, he injured himself with a jamb on the floor and hit his head several times.
“The guard became weak and fell to the ground, and the madman fled with a rod in his hand.
“Pavel in a weak voice asked for help, until his colleague, who was standing at the black gate, arrived and took him to the hospital of Our Lady. He told his colleague what happened before he left the ghost. “
Police officer Patrick Webury confirmed the incident.
A mentally unstable person during the press was still fled from justice.
