Plateau Schools Reopen in Q3 Oct.30 – Lalong
After engaging with all stakeholders and establishing mechanisms to comply with COVID-19 protocols, Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong ordered the reopening of all public and private primary and secondary schools in the state from October 30, 2020.
With this directive, the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs Makut Macham said in a statement that schools will resume academic activities in the third quarter and ensure they operate in accordance with guidelines issued by the President’s COVID-19 Task Force for the Safety of Students and Educators. …
All sixth graders must return to school between October 19-23 to prepare for their first high school diploma and national entrance exams, although it is recommended that all directors of public and private schools with huge populations should consider uneven school attendance to avoid disruption COVID-19 protocols related to social distancing.
He stressed: “Various training courses and activities have already been conducted to guide schools and teachers on the basic operational requirements.
“Likewise, the school leadership has been tasked with cleaning, fumigating, and reorganizing the school environment for recovery. Meanwhile, agreements are being concluded that will help reopen the work of higher education institutions in the state. “
