Police update on female NYSC member who stabbed Akwa Ibom’s boyfriend
The Akwa Ibom police responded to the murder of the young man by his alleged mistress.
State Police Public Relations Officer Akwa Ibom Odiko Ogbeche-McDon said that an investigation into the murder had begun.

He identified the suspect as Princess Odume, a member of the State’s National Youth Service.
Odume was arrested Monday after allegedly killing her male friend with a machete.
Ogbeche-McDon, who confirmed the Sahara Reporters incident, said the perpetrator had been arrested and police began investigating the case.
He said: “The police are investigating. The police arrested her, she committed a crime, but as I speak, an investigation is underway into how and why she did it. “
The young woman, who is said to be a graduate of the University of Nigeria at Nsukka in Enugu State, was stripped and abused by the deceased’s neighbors, who surprised her when she tried to jump over a fence with a saber.
According to an eyewitness, Odume was seized on Sunday on Abak Street after neighbors saw the still unidentified body of a man lying in a pool of blood with several cuts on the body.
A Facebook user at the scene wrote in his chronicle: “She was accused of killing a boy early in the morning on Abak Street. I saw a large crowd on Abak Road from Afakha Offot, so I ran there. And so, this young woman was beaten and undressed.
“She was found this morning at about 9:30 while trying to jump over the fence of the guy with whom she went to have sex. There were blood stains everywhere, so they seized her and beat her to amazement and even stripped her. (I won’t be able to place the video on my timeline because it is disgusting).
“This morning she killed a boy with a machete (killed a young man with a machete) whom she met. She killed the young man immediately after several wounds to the stomach and face, but was caught trying to jump over the fence.
“Some cyclists (commercial motorcyclists) said that she always sent them (to get) weed since she was sent to Akwa Ibom for her NYSC (National Youth Service Corps).”
Police duly arrested Odume for further questioning.
