President Bukhari dismisses Nigerian Copyright Commission President Judge

Dr. Tony Judja, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, was relieved of his duties by President Muhammadu Bukhari.

This is stated in the notification, which was given to reporters on Monday by the spokesman for the Attorney General of the Federation, Dr. Umar Gwandu.

The document signed by the Attorney General of the Federation and the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr Dayo Apata (SAN), is dated October 15, 2020.

The notice, entitled “Notice of his removal from office of President, Board of Directors of Nigeria,” referred to an earlier letter dated September 28, 2020, which was reportedly transmitted to Judja by the President approving his resignation.

While the notice said Judge’s removal was effective immediately, it did not disclose the reason for his dismissal.

The notice directed the dismissed president to immediately transfer the commission’s assets under his control to CEO John Asein.

Jaja was inaugurated for a four-year term along with other NCC board members in May 2019.

His dismissal came about two and a half years after his imprisonment.
