Retired Kaduna burned down his house to prevent ex-wife from returning
Kaduna retiree Musa Aga shocked his neighbors in the Gonin Gora district of the popular LEA Elementary School in Kaduna by burning his two-bedroom apartment to thwart his ex-wife, from whom he had been separated for over 20 years. from returning to live with him.

His children, who insisted that their mother return to live with their father despite Musa’s insistence on the opposite, forced their way into the house through the roof to retrieve former Ms. Aga’s belongings.
Musa, who retired from the Kaduna Ministry of Rural and Community Development in 2015, was born in Kagoro, in southern Kaduna State.
Telling why he burned down his house, Musa said: “I have been divorcing my wife for about 20 years. But now the kids are forcing me to stay with their mom. But I said no, because when the elders and pastors of our church begged her to come back to me, she said no earlier.
“But now he said he wanted to come back to me. I also said no, but the children make me say that their mother should stay with me. They brought her and her belongings to meet me at my house. They removed the roof and ceiling to enter my house. That’s why I was annoyed and didn’t like it, so I set my house on fire. This is the matchbox I used. So let the past be in the past. “
When asked if the house was built on his tip, he replied: “Yes, that was my tip. But out of discontent with my family, I decided to burn it. Let the past be the past.
When asked if the children would feel guilty for his actions, he replied: “Yes, I want them to feel it, that’s why I did it. They want to force me to stay with their mother, but I don’t want to. They said it was their father’s house, but now their father’s house is gone. See why I burned this?
Musa, when he said that such actions are very rare for people of his age, who would usually like to keep an inheritance for the inheritance of their children when they left, he said: “Yes, but when they are bad, you do not keep them. nothing for them if they are not good and do not listen to you.
“If they are good, can they make the father do this to the mother? I taught them to take care of me when I grow old, but now they treat me badly.
The neighbors’ efforts to extinguish hell were unsuccessful, as the fire was fueled by a strong harmatan wind.
The wind heightened the fear of nearby neighbors that their homes might be damaged, so they concentrated it and controlled its spread.
While some fought to control the fire, young scavengers from local emergency villages were busy collecting burnt zinc, scrap metal and iron, although some were bystanders, some were commentators, and some were crying.
One of the daughters cried because of her powers, and according to insiders, they did not foresee the burning of the house.
It also became known that one of the daughters would insist that the father accept his dowry, even if he did not accept the dowry of the other daughters, so the mother had to return to their father’s house and accept his dowry.
Sources told INDEPENDENT SATURDAY that a woman in her 40s was overheard that her ex-wife was allegedly flirting, as she knew Musa was struggling to build a house and had lived in a rented apartment for many years.
