Rivers State Police Arrested for Shooting N100 Driver Keke Napepa for Bribe
The police officer who killed the young motorcyclist Keke Napepa in the Rukpokwu district of the Obio / Akpor river district for bribe N100 was arrested and detained.
The policeman was accused of shooting a cyclist in the early morning of December 10 for refusing to give him a bribe N100.
Police Public Relations Officer Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident, urged residents to remain calm as he would triumph over the incident. He added that police have been deployed to restore calm and contain further violations of law and order in the area.
“I am aware of the Rukpoku incident. One of our men killed Knight Keke this morning. The policeman is disarmed and in custody.
“We have mobilized our people in the area to restore calm and contain further violations of law and order.
“We ask for reassurance so that we can bring him to justice. Two mistakes can never go wrong. Keke’s driver is dead, and the person who killed him must be punished.
“Killing a police officer or setting fire to a police station cannot bring him back to life or do him justice; on the contrary, it will only worsen the situation.”
