Sanwo Olu: Nigerian military ordered to shoot protesters in Lekki
Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu admitted that the Nigerian military ordered the execution of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the toll collection point in Lekki last week on Tuesday.
Sanwulu revealed during a live interview with CNN that Nigerian army officers were responsible for the attack, according to footage from the location.
POLITICS NIGERIA previously reported that Lecca’s shooting sparked massive protests from human rights organizations and the international community, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.
When asked who ordered the shooting and which security unit followed the order, Sanwulu replied;
“Judging by the footage, there are cameras at this facility. It seems to me that there were people in military uniform, it should be the Nigerian army. “
The interviewer further insisted: “So you are saying that it was the military who ordered the shooting of peaceful protesters in Lekki?”
Sanwulu answered; “Yes, they were there. This is what he shows. “
When asked if anyone would be held accountable, Sanwulu said; “Of course they … I mean we will do everything to make them responsible.”
“I’m not the chief administrator, I’m the governor of the state.”
