Sanwo-Olu tests positive for COVID-19
After Lagos Governor @jidesanwoolu was confronted with a confirmed case of COVID-19, a PCR test conducted on December 11 confirmed that he was indeed infected with the virus.
Mr. Governor is undergoing treatment and is being closely monitored at home by IDH Yaba’s highly qualified State Clinical Team on COVID-19. Sanwo-Olu is well treated and resting and we are confident that he will recover quickly and get rid of the virus. We are seeing a slight increase in COVID-19 cases in clusters in Lagos, and all residents and visitors must strictly adhere to prescribed safety distance warnings, wear a mask, practice hand and respiratory hygiene and avoid unnecessary meetings. or large.
The holiday season is likely to create an opportunity for the virus to spread if we do not follow the rules set by the President’s Task Force (PTF) for arriving travelers and holiday celebrations.
All arriving travelers must be PCR negative for COVID-19 before boarding a flight to Nigeria, and must self-isolate on arrival and take a pre-booked test on the seventh day of arrival in Nigeria.
Lagosians must keep celebrations to a minimum and be considerate and responsible in their communication. The significant gains made to date in containing COVID-19 in Lagos, which have enabled us to prudently resume the economy, must not be reversed.
No one is immune from this virus, and it certainly still exists in the community.
Join me in prayer and wish all the best to the commander of the COVID-19 incident in Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanvo-Olu, a speedy recovery so that he can return to normal functions as soon as possible.
I will regularly inform the public about the healing and well-being of Mr. Governor.
