Senator who broke Obasanjo’s third term is dead
Senator Yushua Anka from Nigeria is dead.
According to the DailyPost, he is best known for battling former president Olusegun Obasanjo for a third term.
In a press release from one of the senator’s relatives, Alhaji Ibrahim Anki, it is said that the senator died in Abuja after a long illness.
Senator Anka was illegal on the part of former Governor of Zamfar State Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima, who also took the place of Senator Yushua Anka in the Senate and represented the West Zamfar Senatorial Zone between 2007 and 2019.
We will remind, the late senator spoke out against the proposal to amend the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to pave the way for the former president for a second term, Olusegun Obasanjo.
However, Senator Anka was vice chairman of the Senate committee on ethics, foreign affairs, police, commerce, home affairs, and government affairs.
In May 2006, Senator Anka resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which brought him to the Senate in 1999, and supported the late ANPP for his second term in the Senate.
Before going to the Senate, he was the National Treasury Secretary of the Republican National Assembly (NRC) during the Third Republic.
