Shekau is seriously ill, wants prayers from Nigerians – pastor
Desmond Yunana, an Anglican priest in Nigeria based in Borno state, says Abubakar Sheaku, the leader of Boko Haram, is seriously ill and wants Nigerians to pray.
Yuan gave a sermon at the church last night and said that she had received “revelation” that the state of health of the Boko Haram leader was very poor.
He said Shekau, who needs prayers from both Christians and Muslims living in Maiduguri, is ready to ask for forgiveness.
Yuan’s “prophecy” came a month after Mohammed Adam, a captured teenage fighter, said Shekau could no longer walk effectively.
Adam, currently in Nigerian army custody, said Shekau was injured in an aerial bombardment of a rebel camp in Tumbuktu, Sambis Forest, Boko Haram stronghold in Borno state.
Shekau, known for taunting the military in videos, has not been seen standing up lately as he posted a video of him sitting or, in some cases, using sound to convey his message.
