Senator Rochas Okorocha, aide to the former governor of Imo State, was shot and killed by security officials from Governor Hope Uzodimma when he tried to claim ownership of property transferred to the state government, Igbere TV reported.
IGBERE TV reported that a group of government and police officials led by Land Commissioner Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu on Friday raided the Royal Spring Palm hotels and apartments, allegedly owned by Nneoma Rochas Okorocha, wife of former Governor Rochas Okorocha, and blocked the area.
IGBERE TV recalls that Hope Uzodinma took over the administration last week, returned the University of East Palm to Rochas Okoroc and renamed it.
While former governor Imo Rochas Okorocha is fighting the current governor of Uzodinma for the university’s recovery, Uzodinma has sealed the hotel of Okorocha’s wife.
There were reports of sporadic gun battles during the operation, as can be seen in video footage from the scene.
