Anambra governor-elect Charles Chukwuma Soludo emphasized the value of education by sharing a throwback photo of him during his university days on his Facebook page, reports IgbereTV.
He said education freed him from what would become a generation trap in the dynasty of poverty and changed his life.
He captioned the photo;
“Somewhere in Nsukka …
In our days of small beginnings, when all we offered the universe were our dreams, driven by a passion for excellence, our gaze was fixed on leading a successful life and making a positive impact on the world around us!
Education came to my rescue and aided my liberation from what would become a generation trap in the dynasty of poverty. There are some, as we had then, who have escaped this trap through trade and the ingenuity of craftsmanship. In my case, education was the saving grace.
Of course, the powerful force of education, when properly harnessed, is still capable of saving millions of poor people around the world. Likewise, a robust MSME and a supportive business environment are key in the fight against itinerant poverty.
In deploying these two, one must be aware of excellence and critical of mediocrity. These are the options before us, the choice is entirely up to the individual.
