Tanya and Slava’s sincere wedding in nature

Bazedon November 3, 2020

Vows in a pine forest, a warm atmosphere, surprises from friends, a stunning bridal dress – this is a dream wedding … Rather, read the story about the triumph of Tanya and Glory!

our story

A year before meeting my future husband, I drew a picture of a girl and a young man. Then I did not put much value in this drawing, only after meeting the groom did my relatives notice an external resemblance to him, right down to the similarity of the nose, hair and dimples on the cheek.

We met on the net, and when we met, we walked around rainy night Moscow, warmed up with cocoa and marshmallows and could not part ways. The next day he called to meet again and asked if I would become his girlfriend! At first I was scared of such a rapid turn of events, but, of course, I agreed. I would never have thought that we would meet, because we are still too different, he is a physicist by training, I am a lawyer, we listen to different music, watch different films, love different food. But he turned out to be the same creative person as I am, even more.

We both love to travel, and the offer was made in Prague, on the very first morning of our vacation, in a hotel room. He asked if my ring was on the windowsill, I replied in all seriousness that no and said that it was probably forgotten by the guests who were in the room before us. I was even afraid to take the ring in my hands and wondered out loud whether the diamond was in it, but at that moment with a peripheral vision I saw that Slava was kneeling down and asking if I would become his wife! I could not utter a word, he was also very excited, both voices trembled.

Wedding preparations

I have always dreamed of a wedding close to nature, I wanted greenery, warm light bulbs and wooden elements in the decor. I really liked the rustic and boho styles, the colors had to be as natural as possible, white orchids and warm garlands on the ceiling were required. The choice was also influenced by the wedding city (Cheboksary) and the picturesque places around it.

We were organizing remotely from Moscow, it was not easy, but my friends and sister helped. The first step was to find a site – I wanted to hold a wedding in the forest among tall pines and near the water, there were few such places. As a result, we found a recreation center on the banks of the Volga with an open-air pool and a wooden restaurant. This is how the puzzle came together, it was an ideal place for a photo shoot, a banquet, and a stop for guests!

An unusual situation developed with a wedding dress, which began to be sewn to order three months before the wedding. Imagine my surprise when, having arrived for the first fitting, it turned out that the dress was of a different color! But I didn’t have to worry, they sewed and adjusted the new outfit again in twenty days, I was immensely grateful to the fairies from Mary Truffle for solving the problem in such a short time!

While looking for invitations, I found wonderful decorators from Yaroslavl, I really liked their design with tree branches on which birds were sitting. This image is reflected in the style of the wedding.

That very day

We decided in advance to divide the day of the official painting in the registry office and the wedding celebration, so as not to take guests from the registry office to the site. The painting itself took place in Moscow, in an old estate, surrounded by close relatives, after which we went for a walk around the city and ended the day in a cozy restaurant.

The wedding day was so long-awaited, but it flew by instantly! Slava and I did not spend the night in different apartments, from the very early morning at home the makeup artist was already working on the images of our friends, I went to the stylist for styling and makeup, and the groom went to a barbershop. The morning was very soulful, in an apartment full of guests getting ready and gathering, and the groom’s mother made everyone breakfast. We didn’t have a wedding organizer, but there was a coordinator.

During the ceremony, we made mutual vows, which we wrote the night before. During the vow, I gave the groom the very picture where we were painted before we met, and a T-shirt with the phrase “Not a boy, but a husband,” which his friend said at the bachelor party. I think the groom was pleased.

After the ceremony, Slava and I left our guests for a short while to film on the banks of the Volga and in the forest. Despite the logistical difficulties and the remoteness of the site, at that moment all doubts about the wedding place disappeared, because it is convenient when you do not need to go somewhere for beautiful shots, and the guests have something to do. We were worried about the weather, but it was wonderful, and even made us happy with a magnificent sunset!

The evening itself was very soulful, there were no long speeches, the presenter masterfully carried away the guests with interactions. We liked the competition with children’s photos, everyone was pleased to immerse themselves in those days. The best solution was also that there was live music and amazing singing of our friend, with whom we discussed the playlist in advance! The most unexpected gift for us was a folk song performed by the groom’s friends! They surprised everyone!

The groom himself put on the wedding dance, and according to the idea in the middle of the dance, we wanted to invite the guests to dance, but no one understood by my gestures that it was necessary to go out. I had to improvise on the go, but we were able to dance and no one noticed that something was wrong))

The evening ended with tea and cake and joint lighting of Bengal lights.

Advice to grooms and brides.

  1. Choose contractors responsibly and trust yourself. Don’t be afraid to change them if you are not sure that they will do everything as planned. After all, this is your wedding, it is your only one, and they will have many more weddings. Always write down all the conditions in the contracts, then it will be possible to refer to them if the contractor does not fulfill something.
  2. Be sure to have a hearty breakfast in the morning, because the excitement might make you forget to eat for the rest of the day.
  3. If you are planning to organize a wedding yourself, still hire a coordinator, who will have both the needle and thread and hydrogen peroxide in a magic case that we needed that evening! He will save you a lot of your nerves and will be able to settle many issues while you enjoy your wedding day.
  4. Pay attention to the little things that make up the wedding. Think over the budget of the future celebration in advance, keep a table of planned expenses.
  5. If there are children at the wedding, organize a play area, then it will be much easier for them to occupy themselves.
