Tension from angry crowd sets fire to truck over alleged overwhelming boy |
An angry mob set fire to a fire engine in Saki, a city in Oyo state, after a driver allegedly killed a man.
The Daily Post learned that a truck carrying cattle was burned on Monday after being accused of killing a boy in the city.
Sources said the accident occurred at the Challenge intersection in Saki on Monday evening.
The victim, identified as Ayuba Raji, was hit by a truck.
It turned out that the truck was leaving the city when the accident happened.
Saki Town Development’s Adekunle Laval, who confirmed the incident, urged contractors operating the two-lane lane in Saki to do something outside.
“Yesterday, Monday, January 11, 2021, recently at around 10:00 pm, an accident occurred at the CHALLENGE intersection that killed the boy Ayuba Raji, the younger brother of popular Yoruba host and musician Monsurat Raji. This guy was riding a Boxer motorcycle and was hit by a truck transporting cows from Saki.
“An angry mob set the truck on fire before SAKIFIRST contacted the police to avoid further damage. We know these livestock carriers for their speed and careless driving.
“Now is the right time for us to lead the FRSC on Driving Education, a step we took last year before we were stopped by COVID-19.
“We feel sorry for the family of the deceased, even contractors need to urgently do something. This is the second accident in just 3 months. “
