Tensions over armed criminals disrupting a security review meeting hosted by a coalition of northern groups in Kaduna

On Monday, December 14, a security review meeting hosted by the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) in Kaduna was halted due to harassment of participants by armed criminals.

The meeting, scheduled for December 14-15 at Arewa House, was intended to develop a module for the wider Acton community for self-defense, deeper engagement and greater synergy between the northern states.

It turned out that thugs with sabers and other dangerous weapons burst into the hall shortly after the start of the rally. They trashed the property and kicked out the participants.

The meeting is attended by security experts, traditional and religious leaders, groups, civil society, business, government, commerce, youth, opinion leaders and women’s associations from each of the 19 northern states.
