The Day I Mourned My Hero Muhammad Ali – Pastor Adeboy Tells An Intriguing Story
On Friday, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the chief overseer of the God-redeemed Christian Church, named the late American professional boxer Muhammad Ali his “hero.”

The priest, who was a boxer, said that he once mourned the health of Ali, who died in 2016 at the age of 74.
Adeboya spoke at the virtual Holy Spirit ministry in February 2021 on the theme “God bless you (2)”.
The 78-year-old cleric said: “It’s one thing to be a champion, another to be a champion again. I will illustrate this with the example of the blessed memory of Muhammad Ali.
“He was my hero, by the way, we were born in the same year, and I was also a boxer; not from his class, but I followed his every fight. At least starting with Sonny Liston, I can tell you about everyone my hero fought with.
“But then, one day I saw him, when they asked him to light the torch before the Olympics, and I saw my hero, a man swimming like a butterfly and stinging like a bee, I saw how he trembled like a barrel blown by the wind. His hands were shaking, and I had to make special efforts to hold the flashlight, and that day I cried. “
“I ask myself, ‘Is God a former champion? “Thank God God bless you, not a former champion,” Adeboye added during a broadcast overseen by The PUNCH.
