The military takes Mars away from terrorists
The Nigerian military says the troops have complied with the directive of the Army Chief of Staff Major. General Ibrahim Attahiru, who accused them of recapturing Mars, an area in the state of Borno, from capturing suspected terrorists.

Army Public Affairs Brigadier General. Mohammed Yerima, in a statement on Tuesday, said the troops completed the mission in less than 48 hours.
The statement reads: “The Nigerian army this afternoon, at about 15:00, recaptured New Mars and its surrounding settlements from the devilish terrorists of Boko Haram.
“This is less than the order given by the army chief of staff, General Ibrahim Attahir, which was given to the troops 48 hours earlier.
“Troops supported by Nigerian Air Force air cover successfully passed through the city of Mars, destroying several IEDs and landmines placed along their routes, and killed dozens of Boko Haram / ISWAP terrorists and successfully reclaimed the city.
“The valiant troops are currently in complete control of the territory.”
