The police killed two people and left many wounded in a clash with the Okada Knights in Lagos.
Two of those killed were reportedly shot dead by several Nigerian police officers on Saturday and two others were injured.
This happened during a clash between commercial bikers known as okada bikers and police officers in the Otunoba Ichire area in Lagos.
Several police officers from the Ichire unit reportedly confiscated motorcycles from two motorcyclists who were at House at about 8 am and took the motorcycles to their station.
The motorcycle owners reportedly reported the incident to their members, who followed them to the police station on motorcycles to protest the hijacking.
The police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, who, in turn, pelted the police with stones and boards.
A source contacted by Sahara Reporters said the incident took place near his home. According to him, as a result of the collision, two people were killed, and two others were in critical condition.
He said: “There was a fight between police officers and cyclists (commercial motorcyclists). I think the cyclists were trying to attack the police, so the police started shooting in the air, but when the cyclists started throwing stones and boards and pulling out their machetes, the police had to start shooting right at them. I think they shot four: two were killed, some were wounded. “
In the video attached to the report, one of the victims, who was shot in the mouth by a bullet, had an open wound in the mouth.
