The President intervened to release me from custody
On Monday, the Imo state government explained why former governor Rochas Okorocha was fired to state headquarters around 11:30 Sunday night.

Speaking to The PUNCH, State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Declan Emelumba said that Okorocha, who now represents Imo West in the Senate, was released by police on “medical grounds.”
Emelumba said that Gammon’s release does not mean that he will not respond to the “crime committed.”
Emelumba said: “Gammon was released on Sunday by the police on medical grounds. The man was constantly being cleaned and excreted, the police were forced to release him on medical grounds so that he could take care of his health. His release does not mean that he will not answer his case. “
But Okorocha, who responded to the complaint by addressing his supporters at his Spibat mansion in Owerri on Monday, said the president intervened in the matter.

Gammon said, “They kept me there (at the police station) and at about 11:30 pm they asked me to leave. I would like to thank the Bureau for intervening in this matter. Governor Nadezhda Uzodinma should not take my peacefulness for granted.
“He must remember that he will not be remembered, how many people he fought for, how many projects he built.”
