UMAHI Introduces 24-Hour Curfew In Ebony
Ebony Governor David Nwese Umahi on Wednesday imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state to curb criminal activity and reduce attacks on state property.
In a statewide broadcast monitored by TV correspondent IGBERE, Umahi said that criminals and sectarians had burned down many police stations, went to prisons to free prisoners, and equally attacked security forces, including shooting at them. …
According to him, “these thugs and cultists are not of ebony, but they came from outside because they do not wish us all the best.”
“Our state security forces have been injured by the attacks and provocations of these thugs. These security services have shown great patience and wisdom in addressing the problem at stake, and I urge them to continue doing just that. ”
“Government vehicles and infrastructure have been severely damaged and this is unfortunate.”
“I will continue to say that peaceful demonstrators have their own legitimate demands, and I apologize for the many areas in which we, as leaders, have disappointed our young children. We believe that the success of the peaceful #endSARS protest will motivate us leaders to make adjustments if necessary. ”
“I appeal to our people not to let outsiders ruin the modest improvements in our state that may not have benefited some people outside our state who don’t want us all the best and who imported these thugs into our state.” …
“Therefore, I ask the security authorities to block all our borders from 19:00 today, October 21, 2020, and protect all lives and property.”
“In addition, I, the Governor of the State, by virtue of the powers granted to me by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, am imposing a 24-hour curfew from 7:00 pm today, October 21, 2020.”
