Tibor Naggi thanks Nigerian police for arresting Philip Nathan’s kidnappers
The United States praised Nigeria’s police for arresting two members of the transnational abduction union involved in the kidnapping of US citizen Philip Nathan Walton.
Walton was abducted on October 28, 2020 from his farm in Masalata village in the Republic of Niger.
Two suspects, Aliya Abdullahi, M, 21, and Aliya Umaru, M, 23, both from Sokoto state, were arrested on 25 November 2020.
In a tweet, US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Tibor Naggi wrote;
We applaud the Nigerian police for their successful pursuit of the group that kidnapped a US citizen in October. The arrests of her two kidnappers demonstrate our shared interest in deterring abductions and other forms of violence in Nigeria.
