Two people were killed and more injured in a clash of seven rivals in Bayelsa state.
As it became known, the incident took place on Monday around the famous Svali market in the capital of the state of Yenagoa.
Two other victims were reportedly hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
The deceased and the two surviving victims were reportedly traders in the marketplace and were hit by stray bullets fired by the cultists.
The struggle plunged the market into chaos as traders, shoppers and passers-by fled in different directions, saving their cherished lives, as some shops were looted and goods were taken away.
Bayelsa State Police spokesman Asinim Butswat confirmed the incident.
Bootsvat, who said the command had not yet figured out the names of the two cults, said: “It was a clash of seven rivals. Two people died (names are hidden), and one Emmanuel Akpay and Chinedu Offor are being treated at the Federal Medical Center. “
According to him, the command has begun an investigation into the incident.
