CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered a full investigation into the past activities of the suspects with the aim of charging them in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

Men from the Nigerian police, the Ogun state command, arrested two men identified as Monday Karezu, 32, and Anagonou Kamelan, 44, for illegal possession of a fresh human head.

The suspects were arrested on November 3 following information received from men in the modus operandi section of the state’s criminal investigation and intelligence department that some men are arriving at a home of herbalists with a human head wanting to use to make money ritual.

After the information, the team led by DSP Nurudeen Gafar quickly moved to the area where the herbalist’s house was and ambushed there. Less than two hours after their arrival, the two suspects arrived on motorcycles with a bag containing the human head, and were promptly arrested.

Confirming the incident, DSP Abbimbola Oyeyemi, spokesman for the state police command, said: During the interrogation, on Monday Karezu, a citizen of the republic of Benin, informed the police that he had taken the head from a place known as ijale papa.

“This led to the cops following him to the scene only to find that he was lying. Further investigation revealed that Karezu is resident in the Sabo area of Abeokuta on Monday, and that the human head with him was that of a woman who died three months ago in childbirth and was buried not too far from her home.

It was also found that the suspect had once killed his nine-month-old daughter and used her head for the same purpose, but to no avail. He had also exhumed another corpse, removed the head and used it to make ritual money, but he had failed.

The last one who got them in trouble was introduced to him by Anagonou kamalen a Togolese, who informed him that he knew a herbalist who can do original rituals for him to make money with the human head, therefore, he exhumed the corpse of the woman buried not too far from his home, he cut off his head and in the company of his accomplice, took him to the herbalist’s house where they were stopped before delivering him “.

Oyeyemi added that the state police commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered a full investigation into the suspects’ past activities with the aim of indicting them in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
