Governor Ifeani Ugwuani of Enugu State on Tuesday confirmed that his administration continues to support the state’s rural development in line with the solemn pledge made in his 2015 inaugural speech.

Speaking during the opening of the 12-kilometer Ugwuomu-Nike-Godfrey Okoye road on the outskirts of the Enugu-East local government area, the governor said the project will cover the two communities of Emene and Ugwuomu-Nika, not just It will provide easy access, enjoyable commutes to work. but will also significantly reduce travel time.
He also said that the road will stimulate local trade and economic development, with a corresponding improvement in the quality of life of the population, “who never knew paved concrete roads before this intervention.”
Governor Ugwuani recalled that construction of the road began in 2018 after his administration at Godfrey Okoye University allocated funds to implement the project on a direct basis under the leadership of the University’s Physical Planning Department. …
Emphasizing that alleviating the suffering of the state’s people, especially in rural areas, by building critical infrastructure and expanding economic opportunities was an important part of his administration, the Governor expressed deep gratitude to God for the opportunity. the state government to carry out a large-scale project, among other things, despite the country’s economic, security and health concerns.
He argued that despite the fact that his administration faced two recessions in five years, God made everything that the state government has achieved so far possible with limited resources at his disposal.

Stating that the Governor of Ugwuani has written his name in gold in the hearts of the inhabitants of Emen, Nkvubor, Ugwuomu-Nika and Godfrey Okoye University, prof.
