Ugwuani replaces Umahi as leader of the South-East NDP
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday appointed Governor of Enugu Ifeanyi Ugwuani as the new leader in the party’s southeast, IgbereTV reported.

Ali Odefa, vice president of the NDP (southeast) spoke to reporters after the party meeting in Enugu.
Ugwuani was adopted following the transfer of Ebony Governor Dave Umaha to the All-Progressive Congress (APC).
Odefa said the party accepted Ugwuani because of his participation in the party.
“We unanimously accepted the Governor of Ugwuani as the leader of the NDP in the southeast because of his immeasurable contribution to the development of the region.
“We are confident and satisfied that this will lead the Southeast NDP to success,” he said.
