UK Announces Closure of Nigeria Visa Application Centers
The UK government announced the closure of its visa centers in Nigeria following the violence that followed the #EndSARS protest.
In a statement released Wednesday, October 21, it was determined that the centers would be closed for at least 48 hours. Applicants with appointments booked were asked to reschedule their appointment until next week.
The statement was read;
“Important: the closure of our visa center” on its website suggests that the centers will be closed for “at least” 48 hours.
“Due to the ongoing protests in Nigeria and for the safety of both staff and applicants, our Nigerian centers will be closed for at least 48 hours.
“For applicants whose appointments have been booked during this period, the appointment will need to be rescheduled for the next week starting from October 26, 2020.
“We will continue to post regular updates on this page, so keep checking back for the latest reopening information. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. “
