Under your squad, banditry has devastated Zamfara
Bello Matavalle, governor of Zamfara, says the state was a hideout for bandits led by the All-Progressive Congress.
Matavalla said in response to a statement attributed to Yekini Nabena, APC’s deputy spokesman.
Abdulaziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara and a member of the AKN, was the governor of the state at a time when there were many cases of banditry.
Nabena said the governor in the northwest has sponsored bandits in the region.
But in a statement Thursday, Matavalla’s public relations aide Zilani Bappa quoted the governor as saying the accusation was “unfounded.”
Bappa said the governor spent most of his time getting the students abducted from high school in Kankar, Katsina, to regain their freedom.
“Governor Matavalla, who has devoted all his precious time and efforts over the past 100 hours to securing the release of these innocent children, was stunned when a media statement was released shortly after their release attributed to the National Secretary for APC advertisements accused of harboring bandits. terrorizing the Northwest, ”he said.
“By the way, this is a similar statement sometimes attributed to the Governor of Katsina State Hon Amin Bello Masari, when the Governor of Matavalle, with similar efforts, rescued 26 innocent girls kidnapped by bandits in the Faskari local government area, the same state of Katsina.
“Although Governor Bello Mohammed resisted the temptation to discuss these events with anyone, there are too many unfounded accusations. Therefore, in order to correct this icteric perception, the notes must be corrected once and for all.
“It is known that the state of Zamfara under the APC was the most severely affected by banditry in the Northwest before Governor Bello Mohammed arrived aboard.”
The assistant said that it was ungrateful to think that Zamfara would shelter criminals because he was enjoying a relative peace.
“Because of political divisions, it is very unprofitable to attribute the appearance of the peace achieved in Zamfara state to the crime of stationing bandits to terrorize neighboring states,” he said.
“It is gratifying to note that His Excellency President Muhammadu Bukhari is sympathetic to Governor Matavallah’s every move and has praised him for the steps he has taken to end the banditry in the state,” he said. …
Gov. Bello Mohammed would like to inform the general public that his carrot-and-stick approach to dealing with bandits has been successful in the recent past as he negotiated with those who agreed to the deal and opposed the rebellious, resulting in elimination of more than 300 sent in just two months. “
Bappa said the governor encourages all stakeholders in the Northwest to work to bring peace to the region.
