The statement reads: “Following the recent nine-month suspension of union activities by the Academic Universities Union (ASUU), the Ilorin University Senate has approved the resumption of academic activity in Rain’s semester from 11 January. , 2021 “.

“The resumption of academic activity follows the Senate’s approval of the proposals of the committee of vice-rectors and deans at a meeting held on December 30, 2020,” the statement said.

The university spokesman added that other decisions of the meeting included 13 weeks of classes and three weeks of exams per rain semester.

“In the period from 4 to 8 January 2021, there will be only two weeks to assess and calculate the results and train staff in virtual learning. Practical training will begin when the spread of COVID-19 stops, ”he said.

Akogun said that at its 285th emergency meeting, which took place on Dec. 31 virtually via Zoom, the Senate explained that lectures, however, will be delivered online in accordance with the directives of the National University Commission (NUC).

Meanwhile, the Senate also approved the re-approval of Professor Sylvia Malomo as Vice Chancellor (Academic) and Professor Mikhail Bukhari as Vice Chancellor (RTI), the statement said.
